How to obtain favour with God! (Proverbs 3:3-4)

Proverbs 3:3-4 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Mercy and truth are both attributes of God. God is our heavenly Father. As His children, we should have behavior at least similar to our Father. Through the Word of God, we see that God expects us to have the attributes of being merciful and truthful. In Proverbs 3:3b, the Word of God directs for us to bind mercy and truth around our neck, and write it upon our heart. Mercy reflects being forgiving. Certainly God is a forgiving God, and as such, we should be forgiving children of God. By having mercy (forgiveness) and truth in our daily existence, favor and understanding shall be our reward.
