Want to be ready for Christ's Return

"And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be." Revelation 22:12 (KJV)

Christ is certainly coming back again! No one, but God the Father, knows when Christ will return! Jesus expressed this himself in Matthew 25:13: "Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh." For believers, Apostle Paul writes some encouraging words regarding this fact in 1 Thessalonians 5:1, "But the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, at travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." However, just as Paul statement serves as encouragement for believers who long for His return, Paul's statement should serve also as a warning for the unbeliever.

When Christ returns, He will reward every individual for their work. Work here is in reference to one's life and witness. We must not just merely believe in Him, but we must also live in obedience to His will. In Revelation 22:12, Christ directed John on the Idles of Patmos to record these words, "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be."

My prayer is that your work or life will be acceptable in His sight! Accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, and live for Him so that when He returns, there will be no doubt whether you will be ready! And if you are ready for whenever He returns, you will have the joy and excitement of John when he responded to Christ acknowledging His return. John responded by saying "So be it, even so, come, Lord Jesus!"
